How did you first get into circus arts?
I started Rythmic Gymnastics when I was 4.
At age 12, I joined the world famous National team of Rythmic
Gymnastics in Ukraine. I took part in many national and international
competitions, winning many medals.
At age 16, I moved to Germany, to practise in the German national RSG team.
At 18, I went back to Kiev, Ukraine and joined the National University of
Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine. I met friends there who
showed me and told me
about circus life and career! I got very excited about it! Then, when I
was 19, I first started to practise in a circus-theater in Kiev!
All my life I had the best coaches, so it was always very
interesting to start something new, something exciting, I fell in
love with circus arts!
Your Hula Hoop act is world class, where did you learn to do it?
I was in Rythmic Gymnastics. And the first place where I started to
practise and then work in, it was a circus-theater in Kiev.
Then I chose to have a manager and I left for Germany, where I worked
with great artists on my new hula-hoops act! We were able to find my own style.
In 2006, Olena Yakimenko first created for me a Hula-hoops act! I
took part for the first time in a circus festival in that same year,
then I got work in different varieties and theaters, and in circus.
Where was your first contract?
My first work was in Kiev, with my circus-theater, but the first time I left my country was to work in Basel, Switzerland.
What has been the most memorable experience you have had in your career?
It was when I worked in Hong Kong for Mr. Acerbi, and shared the stage
with Viktor Kee, Aurelia Cats and Duo Nostalgia
It was an exclusive, big gala show - and for me it was so exciting to
work there.
What do you see for your future?
For the future I have so many plans. My choreographer and I are just
changing a bit about my hula-hoops act.
We have a plan with handbalancing act, with a very great idea!
For the 2008 year I am planning to work in USA and Germany. I have
so many plans for my future and I hope everything will come in true!
